This last Saturday, I decided to go watch Tropic Thunder... I was hyped about it, heard it was suppose to be good, and was going to be really funny because it had Black, Downey Jr., and Stiller. I decided to go spend $8.50, $17.00 with my brother to go watch a movie, about making a movie. The movie starting rolling, we were struck by ridiculous "fake" commercials. Scorcher I, II, III, IV, V, and now VI. I was like, WTF I have never heard of these movies, WTH. It then movies to a commercial where the character Alpachino is advertising his Booty Sweat, and Bust-A-Nut bars. Then it moves Jack Blacks commercial were hes making, the fats movies, or something like that. Wasn't that funny. After being introduced to all the characters, I felt the movie wasn't going to be that funny. It had some laughs, but to me the only true laugh I got during it was when Tom Cruise raged when "Flaming Dragon" captured "Simple Jack" aka "Ben Stiller".

Oh, btw, If you havn't seen the movie yet, I give it an 8/10. It was OK, could have made some scenes funnier, Oh well, take it for what its worth. Thanks for letting me waste your time.

Is this an intentional troll? The movie was incredible, perfectly written and acted for all of the over the top parts. It's a satire on Hollywood and a very mature level of humor disguised as immature jokes.
I didn't stop laughing for the first 15 minutes or so of the movie. The "backgrounds" of the characters in the previews were spot-on jabs at big budget marketable Hollywood tripe and the filming of the first scene in the movie was comedy genius.
If you're "trolling" on purpose then +exp, bravo. If not, you're a total mongoloid.

Agree entirely with this reply, the movie was amazing. I'm thinking about going back to the theaters to watch it again, which I have never done with any movie.

No doubt it was hilarious at the start, but it dropped off, then picked back up very fast after. I liked the part where Mathew McCounghey (butchered his name I know) came running in towards the end with his TEVO package.

Wow. I found every other part of the movie to be funnier than when Matt showed up with the TiVO at the end. Guess we have like opposite tastes. I also loved the intro and found the Tobey Maguire cameo especially funny.
I thought the actors did really well too. No one overacted. I was especially impressed by Jack Black who was content to not take over the film like he's done in every other movie he's been in.

that was gross, ugh, but, I liked how ever actor had a part in the movie, or a segue dedicated to them. Jack Black had his portion were he was on drugs, Downey Jr seemed to be cracking jokes the whole movie, ect ect

Don't really expect much from a stiller movie nowadays but I mean it was decent. I'd give it a 9/10 though I thought there were a lot of really funny lines from everyone but him.

i saw it too with some friends but how did you not pick up that the fake ads at the beginning were fake? the first one was the booty sweat/bust a nut bars . . .

i went to see it with no expectations and came out surprisingly entertained
had to do a double take on tome cruise, wasn't sure if it was him the first minute HRM GEE THIS GUY LOOKS FAMILIAR

It was entertaining listening to Downey Jr for sure. The Tom Cruise parts were entertaining also, for not being a main actor.

pineapple express isnt my kind of humor, i enjoyed tropic thunder a lot more. pineapple express was decent, but tropic thunder was hilarious imo

Yeah I couldn't get into Tom Cruise for this movie, he just did what random nerds do on vent every day. It was like watching a vent recording. Might have been funny if I didn't play WoW.
