Hey there folks!
I've been a Gameriot fan, reading in the wings for quite some time. Well I've decided to make a blog detailing my experiences with the arena on both my paladin and my rogue.
Playing a healer and a dps class in the arena can teach you a lot about what works and what doesn't when you face classes similar to your own. For instance, I can typically shut down paladins since I play one and I know what shuts me down when a rogue is on me.
Does this make me an expert? Far from it. However, this season I'll be taking PVP more seriously with little to no raiding. I used to spend all my time in pursuit of that elusive "progression" but at this point I've learned it's just that: progression.
Just because I haven't hit Gladiator doesn't mean that I'm not progressing and just because I haven't killed Illidan doesn't mean I'm not progressing as well. Am I a scrub? Probably. I tend to think it broader terms though and I hope that what I write may be helpful in some way.
On to the introduction of my characters. My level 70 paladin is named Stryider and I play on Kilrogg which is on the ever famed BG9. My rogue, Syncronize (Syncro) is also on BG9. They didn't start out there though.
I started back on Skywall in 2005 when it first opened. WoW was my first MMO and the only computer games that I had ever really been into prior to that were other Blizzard titles. I transferred to Kilrogg with a friend when we realized Skywall was dead.
I topped out at nearly 2k rating running a Paladin/Warlock/Mage combo after transferring and then quit the team soon after as our mage heckled me all the time and I frequently got frustrated with our performance (i.e. lack of sheeps! gg!). Soon after I quit their rating tanked and the warlock quit the game for a while due to real life issues.
I raided for a while and decided to take a break a little while back when raiding got old as a healer. When I came back I started concentrating on my rogue and have been able to gear him a bit more with the release of season 1 gear to the honor vendor.
So, season 3 holds the key for me. I'll be running a Spriest/Rogue combo in 2's and a Spriest/Rogue/Druid combo in 3's. Not sure about 5's and I'll jump off that bridge when I get there.
After playing some games with my priest in 2's we went 13/3 topping out at 1934 before season 2 ended. I'm looking forward to this season and hope that my teams remain stable for my rogue.
As for my paladin, I'm still trying to workout some teammates for season 3 and I'll give you more updates when I get there! Thanks for reading and feel free to flame. Criticism is good for you.

but gl to you and me!
