Before I continue, I must note that this might become lengthy, and I'm writing this to be completely honest, as well as answer some questions. I have no idea how it will be received, just as I didn't when I responded to Serennia. However, at this point, you deserve this much. I realize that this is a double edged sword since I'm actually not providing more WoW content by spending an entire article doing this.
While it's blatantly obvious that the poll results are barely worth considering (and I made it perfectly clear as to why), I won't pretend that compared to when I previously played WoW at a much more serious level, the overall quality, relevance and effort of my current writing has decreased. Regardless of feedback from the 10-20% of total viewers that comment (35k viewers a day, just under 1 mil per month), Jasi-Day, and the existence of a bandwagon or not, from my own personal perspective, my writing is not as good as it was before. In other words, even if you all thought my writing was amazing right now, I am not happy with it, and don't think its anywhere near what it should be.
When I returned to my E-music project, my effort, enthusiasm, and interest in it was much more apparent than it was for any writing related to WoW. I've always had a huge passion for music, and one of the more difficult aspects of writing about WoW is that when you've written over 500,000 words and 270~ articles about the same thing, it can become tedious. However, in no way is this any excuse for my writing quality deteriorating simply because the subject hasn't changed.
I will say that as I realized how detached and money hungry the developers of Blizzard became, my distaste and frustration of the game became outwardly reflected. I enjoyed this game the most during season 2, and everything since then has felt like a far-cry from it. Balance changes have never been what they should be, and PVP, the biggest source of enjoyment I found in this game, has just felt disappointing. That's not to say that season 2 didn't have it's own relative problems, but the difference is that I had the ability to still enjoy the game then, where as now, I've lost that ability from a PVP standpoint.
Because of this, I've become far too pessimistic, and the fact that somehow the WoW community remained optimistic of the future of the game regardless of the obvious shortcomings, made me upset at the audience I was writing for. Again, this has reflected in my writing.
Now one common misunderstanding around here is an idea that I have not only quit WoW, but did so 6 months ago. That is not true. I understand that you would assume this since I refused to paste my armory profiles all over the place, but the reason for not is simply the fact that they have been less than impressive for various reasons. First, I all but completely abandoned the stresses of unbalanced PVP, and rather found enjoyment through playing casually with friends. In addition, I am playing multiple different classes instead of focusing on one. To give you an example, here are two characters I'm currently working on.
Jasi
Pogz
While this has increased my overall level of enjoyment playing the game, it has provided little to no writing material that is comparable to when I used to write on the PVP scene at a top 15 level. When you see class theorycrafting, it is a combination of my own thoughts, in addition to conversations and bull****ting I have with friends of top caliber in their relative class. For example, my terrible "at a glance" articles of the past, actually have thoughts and opinions directly from conversations with Priests like Realz and Menismyforte. However, people are quick to pass it simply because they believe that I no longer played the game, regardless of almost always noting that thoughts and opinions are from discussions with my long-time friends (realz I've known since weeks after the release of WoW entirely).
What further made writing decent content difficult, is that real life variables came into play at the exact same time as I found less entertainment from the game. To give you an example, my current week goes as follows: Full time classes amounting to 16 credit hours, the homework that coincides with said classes, 6 nights of writing a week, a social life that includes a girlfriend of almost a year (there was a pic posted of us somewhere this weekend, I'm sure you could find it if you tried hard enough), and hours of commuting. I also do what is necessary (which can also somewhat be seen from the pic) to keep myself in shape, which includes working out 3-4 days a week for at least an hour each time.
Is any of this an excuse? Absolutely not.
Thanks to Serennia (and of course those who comment), I've realized the errors of my ways, and will be doing a complete overhaul of my writing here. This includes actively participating in the PVP community again (if I was able to break 2500 then, it should be easy now). If you have any interest in forming a team with me(and I am willing to transfer servers) please send me a PM. In addition, I will dedicate more time to writing for WoM, as well as playing WoW in general. Hopefully you will see this reflected in my upcoming writing, and for now, I apologize for producing half-assed content for far too long.

first?
edit: would have been, were it not for having another window open three minutes ago. It's all I ever wanted to do, to achieve a first reply on GR.

Jasi wasn't paid for those, it was just part of his workload passed down from the big shots. Basically he had to write about it. Shouldn't assume about things you know nothing about.
btw nice post jasi. Glad to see something good come out of all this drama/bull****/nonsense.

You would never make excuses for, or pat Serennia on the back like you do Jasi.Â
The GR conspiracy at the top is just so transparent!

Last I knew that was Ming as well. Might want to check your sources, though I could be wrong.

No that definitely wasn't. Â Ming would've hired me back if the other GR staff hadn't favored Serennia instead. Â Not that I blame them, but that's definitely what happened. Â Â Â Â
Remember when I said there was going to be the normal $500 traffic blogging contest in addition to the $3k xmas one and you told me to check my sources? Â Fairly certain my "sources" were 100% on that one. Â
Maybe it's just a personality quirk, but I tend to confirm that what I believe is correct before I start making definitive statements.  Â

To be honest I don't really give a damn either way. I was just clarifying as I have nothing to do with any part of that process. But to humor you jasi just noted to me that Ming brought him on, it wasn't GR. He wasn't added to actual staff until quite some time down the road.Â
So if you want to debate it, you should probably talk to him.
As far as Serennia, I know nothing about that situation other than he is starting off pretty much like jasi did, but with a smaller work load.

"To be honest I don't really give a damn either way."
-Seems like the time for a "RESPONSE" photoshop. Â Replace with "GIVING A DAMN" of course. Â
"But to humor you jasi justnoted that Ming brought him on, it wasn't GR. He wasn't added to actual staff until quite some time down the road."Â
-I don't know what Jasi has to do with anything, but I promise you I've very aware of the exact details of his hiring and eventual promotion. Â Â Â Â
"So if you want to debate it, you should probably talk to him."
-There is no debate, and I still talk to Jasi/Ming fairly regularly. Â
"As far as Serennia, I know nothing about that situation"
-You've made that very clear, so I'm not sure why you persist in arguing. Â Â Â

Because you said this, which is wrong.Â
You guys still selected him for the spot originally.Â
"We guys" did nothing of the sort. Now if Ming made the decision with input from Brad, who knows. But saying "you guys" picked him is a bit too general.
And my "give a damn" comment was not caring how it came about one way or another. I do however care when you assume things about me, or other staff, that are wholly inaccurate.

It should be pretty clear that "you guys" is a reference to Gameriot staff in general. Â I don't really care who the individuals were.
Ming originally spoke to me about a rehire until Gameriot higher-ups said they would prefer Serennia. Â Like I said I don't blame them, but if you took that as a personal attack then I apologize. Â Serennia's a better choice if your only goal is traffic. Â The guy can be a tool but I occasionally enjoy being an even bigger one and I quit WoW every other week. Even I probably wouldn't choose me, when it comes down to it. Â Â
I just think it's pretty disingenuous to pretend that Serennia's presence on Gameriot is solely Ming's decision   Â
As to Kyle's comment: Â I don't have sources, I experienced the situation first-hand. Â Ming and Jasi were far from sure about adding Serennia. Â Hopefully it works out in the long run. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

I think you may want to double check your sources on this Dahis. And then seriously consider the situation; compare what you've been told with what is easiest to tell someone.

And Mings beady asian eyes pulsed with fury as WoM did not return to normal as of his last writing.
