Andy Gina

This won't be a full-blown interview or anything, but I did have specific questions that myself and I would imagine the public would like to see answered by these two. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to them surprisingly through an Aion player (great weekend event this weekend in the Abyss and such btw) and had some time to not not only get their answers to questions, but also snag a few pictures, as well.
Although they prefer to have their player and team armory links left anonymous due to privacy concerns, they currently play priest/rogue with Andy playing the mutilate rogue and Gina playing as a discipline priest. On to the few questions:
When did you both get involved with WoW in general and also arena in particular?
Andy: I've personally been playing WoW since vanilla days and started participating in arena mid-season one. In season one and most of season two, I played as deep combat like many other rogues with adrenaline rush and such. I then played HARP (hemo AR prep) during season three for the short stint that it existed and went to mutilate after it promptly got nerfed. I stuck with deep poison mutilate (european style) all the way to the end of TBC and earned Gladiator in season three and four of arena. For WotLK, I stuck with mutilate like the majority of rogues and earned Gladiator once again with my sister in season 5 running disc priest/rogue.
Gina: I really didn't even start playing WoW until Wrath of the Lich King was released when my brother and friends convinced me to try it out since it was basically a big reset button for everyone at the time with a fresh new start. Although a lot of people out there discredit our results because of this, I like to think that we earned everything we got, and although we had a ton of ups and downs in s5, we managed to barely squeeze out gladiator ranking in the last few days of the season, which we're both obviously happy about.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a brother/sister arena team?
Andy: The biggest advantage we probably have is the fact that we don't have any "vent delay" when we're playing and any communication we need to make is pretty much instantaneous since we play in the same room. Meanwhile the biggest disadvantage is probably listening to her screaming when she's dying to a brostorming warrior on her and stuff like that.
Gina: Well, not having to worry about my partner rage quitting on me while I'm still learning things is a big plus in addition to not having any latency like we would with ventrilo. The most annoying aspect is definitely listening to my brother whining about chains of ice, for sure. I see it as payback for playing the faceroll dps class, though!
What do you both do outside of WoW?
Andy: I currently go to school majoring in Business and my friends also don't call me Andy "Blaze" because I'm on the track team or anything... It's probably not the best example to set for my sister but even the last cop that pulled me over for running a stop sign agreed that marijuana should be legallized so I don't feel too bad about it.
Gina: I'm finishing out high school right now still, playing WoW outside of that, and taking some modeling classes on the side in my spare time. I don't really know how far I plan to continue down that route, though, so my main priority right now outside of getting a Furious Frostwyrm is to finish my degree.
Any last words of advice you can give people out there?
Andy: Any aspiring rogues should keep up-to-date on World of Ming. I personally had no idea about the "FoK spec" or that FoK was arguably better as single target damage as combat spec than Sinister Strike. We've actually been trying that spec out recently and have been having great success with it, so all I can really suggest is to never be afraid to think outside the box and check out every blogger's tips here when possible.
Gina: Firstly, WoW is amazingly not like driving a car and smoking weed actually does have a detrimental effect on your ability to arena (I'm sure people out there would disagree with this, though). We've tanked several hundred points overall to things of this nature so all I can really suggest is to stay clean and sober when you plan on ladder climbing, kids!

And with that, this concludes the pseudo-interview with Andy and Gina. You can also drop a line to Gina on her facebook here (provided per her request). And since there's not too much else going on in the WoW world, feel free to let me know of any other successful brother/sister arena teams out there or if you know anything else equally interesting to write about, feel free to PM me on Gameriot and I'll research the topic if it seems like it would be a good read.

Yes that's right folks. We can't have a female WoW player without discussing how attractive she is.
Imagine if it was the other way around. How many of us would get upset over the comments made about our physical appearance...

Typical comment about a female WoW player - "Wow She's Attractive"
Typical comment about a male WoW player - "God, he looks like he ate a ******* Tauren/you could play connect the dots with his acne/He's gayer than AIDS.
Stop trying to be an e-romeo begging for ***** by pretending women have it hard.

Because all women receive nothing but compliments?
"That girl has something wrong with her face." "She's fat." "Sharp Knees!"
We've all said it.
And who the **** would beg for ***** on this site? Seriously...

"I would ride that dick"
I would feel so offended if a woman said that to me.
