Regardless of whether I actually make it this season or not, every rogue hero needs a long term RMP. Boozt, Reckful, Litreocola, you name it, when the game is on the line, they switch to RMPs, why didn't I do this sooner? I hit top 10 with RMP earlier in the season thanks to an incredible mage in Wildcrusader (from BG9 days, unfortunately his account on my server was taken back by its original owner). I regret not rebuilding it sooner and waited until literally the final weekend of the season. Most successful RMPs have 500+ games together per season, and it really shows in their consistency. I have Twisty, a very solid mage who hit top 20 earlier in the season as rogue/mage/shaman, before losing his partners and spent most of the season around poor rosters. I also have Xekips, an incredible priest who hit 2500 as priest/DK(pure skills). The talent is there, if we have four weeks we should capture top 32 easily, but can we do it in four days especially when in reality, we are competing for top 12 as 20 of the current 32 teams stopped playing?
That is when a soothing conversation with Venruki-san came about. Since his Complexity abandoned rogue/mage/druid for good, the team's raw athleticism really shined. RMP is a jutsu that requires you to give up everything you have for it. If you even try to second guess yourself and mess around with alternatives, the bleeding edge dulls and you won't be able to unleash its full power. The Minti/Venruki/Sodah trio have the top two RMP slots on US tournament realm, as mutilate frost without the aid of engineering. In a nod to Koreans, they switched their live team to shadow dance arcane, and hit top 5 there too (will probably be higher if the top 4 teams are not turtling). Two drastically different playing styles in one comp, that will provide them incredible flexibility in offline play. They are probably way ahead of Gravitas Duelists as the best American RMP, and with 3.1 changes, I really believe they are the favorites for American tournaments like MLG.
I asked Venruki-san how to defeat the likes of shadow cleave, PHD and DK/Paladin/Fury Warrior type of cleaves as tri-engineer RMP. Having three engineers on one team is honestly not what it used to be. I don't remember the last game I got into without taking a lightning generator in the face. Pretty much every live RMP past 2000 has at least two lightning generators. Venruki-san takes great pride that his team's success was not built around the burst power of engineering, and he offered one most important tip on how to defeat those comps consistently:
Believe It! - Venruki (Who Refuse To Use GLGs To Win)
It sounds silly, but it is really what a top RMP is all about. You have enough damage to burst down virtually any class (yes, including DKs) in the game in a couple of globals if coordinated properly, you have enough control to deny virtually any zerg. What you don't have is longevity and margin-of-error. A mistake here and there, you either lose someone to a burst chain, or waste your windows of opportunity. That is why the elite RMPs all have played hundreds if not thousands of games together. Shadow dance hero Reckful put 700+ games into his deadly gladiator RMP team this season, plus 200 on TR, and 200 more on his priest on a top 3 RMP team in another BG as well. 1100 games in one season, the comp gives you exactly what you put into it. Reckful said he had a very hard time adjusting to shadow dance RMP in S5 earlier, especially in RMP mirrors as he could not outmuscle mutilate rogues 1v1, and could not control mages either with a rogue on his back and no deadly throw interrupt. It wasn't until they mastered the art of forcing trinket on priest, and killing him in next kidney shot with shadow dance, that their consistencies improved dramatically. You just have to believe in the comp, and always find positives even when you felt you just got facerolled by scrub express's.
We win 70% of our games in shadow dance. If I don't kill on shadow dance (and my dance is very planned out), we usually lose. - Reckful
And when he does hit his dance, he kills in the second kidney shot, that is the amount of confidence and trust he has in his spec, in his team, in RMP. Yes, believe it! Incoming Deadly Gladiator Reckful!
Hafu/Zyz Caught In Redlight District?
Scouts caught Hafu in Amsterdam with Zyz by her side, and Glick was nowhere to be found! Does that mean the ultimate couple of WOW is on the verge of a breakup? Or was Zyz's harem no jutsu too powerful? I will let you be the judge with those pictures whether Zyz got some Wang:
We broke up a while ago and all we do now is basically **** and play tournaments together. Maybe zyz did get some wang who can say? - Glick
