I’m excited to announce that the 4 minute prelude to Illegal Danish 3 will be released today right here on Gameriot Myndflame!  It is a frame by frame parody of the Starcraft 2 Cinematic trailer recreated inside the World of Warcraft universe utilizing composites and 3D visual effects not quite like anything that has ever been done before in Machinima.

The original Illegal Danish movie won five first place awards in the Blizzard Movie Contest (Best Comedy, Editing, Music, Dialogue and Action Scene), with nearly 400,000 views and a rating of 4.93 on WCM.

While skilled ninjas probably won't learn new arena tricks from a video like this, they can certainly pick up some editing tips.  As much as I enjoy the Neilyo series, sometimes it really feel like low budget Hong Kong kong fu movies from the 80's next to the Hollywood productions like this.  Check it out!  You won't be disappointed!

Season 7 Gear Vs New Resilience

I was disappointed again as Blizzard took the "more of the same" approach with PVP gear.  While PVEers get exciting new set bonus and stat allocations at every tier, S5/S6/S7 gear so far have the exact same stat allocations and set bonus, the only difference is item level.  It is very boring, can we please mix it up a little?

It will be very difficult for PVP neck/ring/cape to compete with PVE equivalents as they are again, four-stats and suffer from diminishing returns.  Unfortunately, the badge ring released so far has haste which is about as worthless as it gets for a PVP stat.  The scary part is even if you completely discount haste from that ring, it is still superior to the PVP equivalent.  Assuming you already have 5% hit, 50 Hit / 50 Armor Penetration cancel each other out, and 76 agility is superior to 50 stamina / 50 attack power.  I will definitely replace the S6 ring with it.

Having said that, even the pure PVP geared rogue (and there will be a lot more of them in 3.2) will see a big damage increase.  The average PVP geared rogue today is probably around 3600 AP with 188 DPS daggers (which translates into 2632 AP) or a net total of 6232 AP.  The new S7 dagger is 30 DPS higher or +420 AP, every single slot coupled with profession/epic gem changes will add on average, at least 30 more AP for another +500-600 in AP.  Throw in the 2-3% crit from crit ratings and agility, you are looking at a 15% damage increase for white attacks, but specials/poisons of course have huge static damage components that do not scale with gear nearly as much , so we are probably looking at a 12% increase in damage, which cancels out the resilience increase almost completely.

However, players who wear 800 resilience today will upgrade themselves to 1000+ in 3.2, which means higher crit damage penalties, and with less PVE gear in the mix, the game will still slow down quite a bit.  Still, rogues with access to PVE neck/ring/cape/trinket WITHOUT haste/expertise ratings will still use them in place of PVP equivalents, so for live play I don't see a big problem.  The increased survivability should reduce the chance of random rogue gibs as well, and gives RMP an easier time vs cleave.

What About Tournament Servers With S5 Gear?

This is where I sincerely hope Blizzard can step up to the plate and upgrade the tournament server to 3.2 gear.  The new resilience change is perfect for S7 gear, but S5 gear can stack similar resilience numbers while dishing out much less damage.  DK/lock/druid with 1000 resilience each against RMP in S5 gear?  It won't be pretty.

Nobody wants to read yesterday's news, that is why tournaments should be as close to live play as possible.  Back in TBC, the Korean tournaments were played with best possible gear, including warglaive rogues showing off our class in its full glory.  The Blizzard tournament realms were special Olympics with outdated S2 gear, and how many times did we see HON/COM bring a warrior/lock/druid team to 5-10% but could not score the finishing blow?

Healing is much more powerful in WOTLK than it was in TBC, and boring turtling teams would be much more popular if burst is not as strong as it is today.  The S7 gear set would bring the best balance between damage and survivability.  S5 is way too defensive with the new resilience change.

Let Enforcer play his game please, it is beautiful to watch and even the NBA changed rules to benefit rushdown players, because it is good for the audience.  I would like to see Inflame's warrior/warlock/druid vs Realz's RMP under today's rule set, not throwing 12% more survivability into the mix.

All I read from this blog was:
-"the resilience change is good for rmp"
-"the resilience change with s5 gear is bad for rmp"
-"please include gear and resilience change that benefits rmp in tournament play"

After further consideration, and after hearing from many players, we
are going to change how we approach the 2 vs. 2 arena bracket in Arena
Season 7. We still think the 3 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 5 brackets will
ultimately offer the best play experience, especially for very
competitive gamers for whom game class balance issues are most
noticeable. However, we recognize that many players just prefer to play
in the 2 vs. 2 bracket and will miss the chance to earn the current
season's gear. Therefore, we are going to still allow the 2 vs. 2
bracket to grant access to the current season of gear with three
important exceptions: the current season's weapons will not be
available for purchase, the current season’s shoulder armor will not be
available for purchase, and players will not qualify for the Gladiator
title/rewards unless you earn the appropriate rating in the 3 vs. 3 or
5 vs. 5 bracket. We look forward to the changes in the next major
content patch and hope to have a great next Arena Season.

Pretty retarded to buff resil then just add the damage back with ludicrous S7 weapon/gear increase. Ghostcrawler era continues.

Running in PTR with my... class, with 4x tier9 and relentless gladi 2H weapon and yes, there will be tears once again but its still better than what it is now.

Prot pally healers are unkillable though, dunno if they have some bugged survivability but it takes 6 ppl to kill one in PTR. Resto druid is rather sick aswell.

My ret is nearish 4700 ap on live /w might furious weap blabla

On PTR with a relentless T2 weapon (1200 topend) and a setup with 5000ish ap /w might (thats with 850 resi compared to 600 on live, the new gear is sick) i'm doing WAY less damage

That's mainly the ret nerfs being really, really heavy though but i'm just saying not all melee are going to continue to be ridiculous in s7

DKs will still be insane though, thanks to blizzard ***** footing around with minor damage nerfs

Theres no point complaining anyway, what do you expect them to do? not add new gear? at least they ARE changing resi

Yeah ret dmg is definitely not only a gear issue. Don't fear though, I'm 100% sure they are at least considering the UA debuff for one of the rets abilities (most likely CS). It would increase the skillcap and also help ret a bit. Believe it!

Blizzard actually achieving something and raising the ret skill cap!? i remain skeptical..

Can't even judge cc in 3.2, one of very few things a good player could do to seperate himself :<

I was hoping they'd add some pvp utility to SoC and get done what they've failed at forever, making SoC THE pvp seal; if it "just" does damage it'll always, always be oevrshadowed by its pve counterpart

Yeah I've been playing with righteous vengence anyway and will probably not even "waste" the point into SoC.

I'm still counting on them not having goldfish brains and consider the change they wanted to try out themselves.

What the real pros are going to do is stack righteous vengence to 5 stacks swap to command for damage and swap back to keep the stack up

Righteous Vengance is the crit dot you can skill in deep ret :P

Are you sure though? I think it's not worth the global since you always have dmg abilites ready anyway and the judgement is about 20% more dmg than JoC. I mean ret duels against a ret who has SoC up is basically autowin. I could be wrong though.

yeah I ment seal of vengence or w/e... but from what I tested it can put out a lot of damage if you swap. So when your aiming for a kill on a healer you would get 5 stacks swap seal hammer and I was able to drop pretty much anything I tested it on. Granted most of the players on the PTR are retards so I could be wrong.

You're never going to drop a healer who's able to breath on his own, heh. I don't even understand the concept why it would be good to switch seals. I mean that would potentially had to be a part of a PvE rotation if it was benefitial in any way.

It's not, seal twisting hasn't been worth it in a long time; people just can't seem to get past it for some reason and always think WOW YOU COULD TWIST AND AND AND

It's just bad, you lose 3secs of globals, a **** tonne of mana and gain 36% weap damage on swings instead of 33% and much less judgement damage; it's especially unreasonable to attempt during a hammer seeing as you just lost 60% of your hammer swapping seals and with CS at 4 seconds now you probably just push that back another second or two as well

Yeah was thinking the same. I really hope they do something about ret since I really enjoy the playstyle. If not no big deal, my warrior is arena ready :P

Ah, nice. That's not retarded then.

Where did you get this, though? I remember it being considered for the 3.1 patch notes, but then was scrapped.

Well as I said I think they are considering it, not implenting it. There have been quite some posts about this on the official forums. Now if they thought it was a good idea even though ret was still OP in some departments, then it might be a good idea now.
