While I have nothing against the guy and I certainly don't know him well enough to have any sort of negative opinion about him, I was amazed to find someone who was even more disliked than Serennia. Though I will say that one thing I admire about Zilea is that while he may be "a scrawny little *****, an outcast in a room full of outcasts," in real life he still manages to uphold his hard earned WoW street cred in the wake of his only accomplishment in life.
I was able to attain a portion of an AIM conversation between he and Kint. As Zilea made clear in his last blog (more on that later), he was less than pleased with Kint's refusal to give him e-fellatio as a good luck charm in preparation for BlizzCon.
[16:18] zilea: hey kint
[16:18] zilea: **** you ******
[16:18] zilea: "im not playing you cuz i dont want you to get practice"
[16:18] zilea: suck my **** *****
[16:18] zilea: you are a substandard paladin
[16:31] kint: good joke
[16:32] zilea: you are **** ******
[16:32] zilea: you wouldnt practice with me
[16:32] zilea: you can suck my dick
[16:33] kint: 1) you would never say that to my face, any of what you just said 2) i feel fine, because i did not help you practice, regardless if you win or lose i dont care
[16:33] zilea: no
[16:33] zilea: **** you
[16:33] zilea: you wanted me to lose
[16:33] zilea: i just ******* aced a pally dk hunter
[16:33] kint: want a cookie? i didnt care if you won or lost, but i wasnt going to go out of my way to help you
[16:33] zilea: right
[16:34] zilea: if i ever go to an mlg im going to **** in your mouth with my cleave setup and i will refuse to practice against you in advance
[16:34] kint: hope so
[16:34] zilea: yeah
[16:34] kint: but i dont think you'll show up to an mlg im at
[16:34] kint: hehe
[16:35] zilea: doesnt matter dude
[16:35] zilea: ive established my legacy
[16:35] zilea: so suck my dick
Right. So I called Veex to get a comment and all he basically told me was that he did not condone Zilea's comments or actions regarding the subject and left it at that.
Zilea didn't keep his anger to personal AIM conversations. He blogged about it, though this time managing to shy away from his homoerotic demands in his last blog. For those who missed it:
"However... there were a significant number of teams that refused to help us practice because they wanted us to fail (SK Gaming & eMg to name a few). I don't know which member of SK Gaming is the culprit for their refusal to help us practice, but Kint and Flexxzors were the ones on team eMg who refused to help us prepare for Shipit and X6.
You know, for somebody like Kint, who has been rerolling class after class to countercomp people at tournaments to just get sideswiped by my team's second ever tournament says volumes about how terrible he is as a player and how vast a difference there is between high caliber teams and low caliber teams. Seriously, can we get good teams to go to tournaments? No more funneling washed up teams, let's start making these tournaments respectable."
Kint's response: Asking for better teams for MLG? Who? eMg did get second at the last event. Maybe I will be significantly worse then Payce at the tournament, but I certainly don't feel that way. I think it's just him being mad and bitter because...I wouldn't scrim against him. My team got 5th last MLG, but we had a lot of close matches against just about everyone. I'm biased, but I personally think our matches were some of the most exciting. I hope eMg can provide some exciting matches this weekend too!
A professional response from Kint that surely won't result in his teammates distancing themselves from him. A big thanks to him for giving his one (and only) comment for a World of Ming blog. I find this situation interesting because while it seems that sportsmanship is generally good among the e-sports competitors, (I had lunch with Realz, Azael and Veex on Saturday), there are some of the negative things which come out which perpetuate the stereotype that those who participate in anything online are socially awkward internet tough guys.
Zilea, in person, is a an isolated, shy individual who spends more time pacing the convention floor in introverted concentration on the events to come than socializing. He's quite fidgety. I looked him up and down, from head to toe on our first meeting and he flinched. His teammates weren't there with him to first set up his characters for whatever reason, while all the other teams where doing it together as they laughed and joked in Korean, English, Spanish and Chinese.
Zilea, with his face ridden acne reminiscent of a boy in his late teens cursed by genetics, is known for his awkward smiles, slumping posture and love of cats. He is not known, however, to be as tough as his words online have made him out to be according to the many events chronicled by members of the e-sports community throughout the months.
There are many times in competitive play of any game when one must behave in a certain way in both private and public in order to maintain a positive PR image. E-sports, whatever the genre, must follow the same rules of good sportsmanlike conduct we generally see in athletics. One thing we must absolutely keep in mind is that no matter what, nothing we say on the internet is truly private and sometimes, it can come back to bite you.
Ocelote Bids Farewell to the World of Warcraft (for now)
Ocelote and I have become fast friends over the past month. He's been a reliable source of information, a good person to watch the games with, and confident and surprisingly humble man who's energy can be as placid as it can be turbulent. He requested that I post some words that he wanted to say to the entire WoW PvP community and it's my pleasure to share them with you.
"We felt the purity playing WLD as we know it, maybe we were stupid, maybe we lost the "north", but we felt that we were playing under the purity of a hard setup.
"Kae playing with Normal Form, Inflame not playing destro against cleaves, and me playing without Sudden Death made us feel like an old school WLD, we felt it, and made the people feel it too. We felt that we could make the miracle, and we did it.
"We felt like we could win against everyone, whatever setup they use, whatever classes they have, and we did it. We reached the max. But time changes everything, and now, after getting a sad (but meritory) 5th/6th place at Blizzcon 09, Kae and Me decided to leave WoW. I just want to Thank u all ur support u gave to us since the beggining of the team, I just feel the thanks to every single follower we had.
"Con la cabeza bien alta. Gracias Kae, Tharkum, Inflame, Siler, Soul, Falcon, Another, Paperkat, Sarwaz, sUsTo, Bret, askko, Bodi, Kimba, Santa, Meme, Clare.
"Maybe, just maybe, Woah's WLD will return from the grave to reach the heavens." - Ocelote
The End of Season 6 and some Random Asian Woman
The end of Season 6 has come and its associated drama. I may have somehow managed to be carried by my newfound e-fame to hit Gladiator. According to the Arena Junkies Calculator I'm just barely in range. It's been one hell of a season and I can't wait to begin Season 7. I've been wanting to try RLS or Wizard Cleave.
I've managed to play Restoration, Elemental and Enhancement at 2200+ this season and it's been one hell of a ride. Now, all I need is two more achievements and I'll be able to get Arena Master. 5v5 has always been my favorite bracket so it'll be good to play that a lot more than I have in WotLK.
Here's a random picture of me with some random girl at the Blizzard Employee BlizzCon after party. She thinks Russel Crow when I mention Gladiator so I just keep sippin and we have a good time.

For those who like pictures: here's a pretty cool Blizzcon picture gallery thanks to Chaorurin of Ner'Zul. You can find it here.

FIRST LOL - MASSIVE DOWNVOTES!
Wow "substandard" - Zilea hitting hard with them massive insults. Nobody messes with the Wing King.

Welcome to the internet, Bodi.
All in all, it's kinda ******* silly to flame a person for how he looks & what he does, esp after he wins the most prestigious tournament that all of us nerds blog about. What is this ****, gradeschool playground?

You're a black guy on an asian/white nerd site, so shouldn't you feel out of place? People generally like your blogs but Zilea really deserves his win.

Are you being serious when you post? This is the internet son. Fat, young, old, black, white, male, female...no one would know the damn difference if bodi didn't post RL pics, which is probably more balls than you have.
Zilea is a nice nerd, compared to someone like GC, or Glickz and Hoodrych talking about banging chicks with insecurity oozing out of their pores (well actually that's just funny), and Serennia trying to steal money from people and moving from one guild to another for being a dick.
[16:33] kint: 1) you would never say that to my face, any of what you just said
+1
"Legacy," rofl - someones been trying a bit too much to act like Ming?
Downvotes inc, but just wait until he gets shat on at mlg.
Regardless, it's not worth arguing over, I just personally think it's dumb when people act all elitist when it comes to what beer they drink--especially when most people don't even give a **** about taste, and just want to get drunk.
Liking some random beer (Belgian white ale) is fine. Liking **** in a bottle (bud light) is not.
Hope this helps.
not practicing against teams just to spite them when kindly asked is pretty gay
ps good work detective bodi. you managed to throw some words at someone who just won 25k.
