How do we stop this?

In TBC, I remember 2 types of comps that literally represented 95-99% of the comps that you would ever play against in the higher ratings post season 2: PMR and any comp with a druid. Yep, no paladins and definitely no shamans. The 1% that played comps that did not fit this mold was always a surprise when I played against it. Unfortunately, Blizzard never really managed to actually break this mold during TBC; it was a new expansion that broke the mold.

Now there is a new style…  More
[UPDATE] Thanks to briyan the font problems should be gone.

The day has come, ladies and gentlemen. The biggest aspect of Retribution Paladins we've all been waiting for to get nerfed has finally been cut down.

"We are in the process of completing a hotfix that could go live as early as this afternoon that will make the Paladin talent Vindication no longer reduce Intelligence or Stamina from the target it is applied to. The talent will continue to reduce Agility, Spirit, and Strength as it current…  More

Mod King to Little Timmy?

Until about a month ago, I was a mod king, utilizing mods like Spellalerter, Gladius, SCT, etc. Even minor mods like Bartender and Xperl were being used by me in order to maximize my gameplay... or so I thought.

AWOO

It's obviously been a long time since the taking of this screenshot, but notice Spellalerter, bartender, Xperl... non-hotkeyed abilities...
Nonetheless, the times of being a mod watcher have ended. And I must say that the difference is night and day.

I will admit t…  More

UPDATE: Sorry to the admins if this appears twice but gameriot is doing some funky stuff. I put this blog up like 3 hours ago and it never actually displayed.

The TR and season 5 are over, and with the end of them, the game has changed dramatically in season 6. Hello priest/rogue, goodbye hunter/X, etc etc etc. Let's cut to the chase: here's how Blizzard will fix arena.

-Increase everyone's HP by 50%
This will fix the problem of people getting insta-gibbed and will nerf the speccs that undeniably n…  More

-Increase everyone's HP by 50%
This will fix the problem of people getting insta-gibbed and will nerf the speccs that undeniably need to be nerfed (Ret paladins, feral druids, destruction warlock). The side effect of this will also be nerfing comps that are obscenely burst-reliant, like Priest/Mage/Rogue.

-Remove professions in arena
Anyone enjoy playing against people who have the hand-rocket, lightning generators and rocket boots only to lose because of either ridiculous burst or because people c…  More
UPDATE: It appears that less than 45 minutes of the patch notes coming up, there was a firestorm of complaints, and Ghostcrawler has responded with the following:

* Crusader Strike is now An instant strike that causes 110% weapon damage. In addition, if you strike a player while they are casting, their magical damage and healing will be reduced by 50% for 6 sec.

That is not an official change. It is something we were experimenting with, but not a change we are going to make for 3.1.

Filling in for the lazy bastards at WoM (well not really, but here we go).

Battle Report II

It looks like the TR is flourishing beautifully, with every team running pally/dk/lock and pally/dk/hunter, it has given rise to teams like Roguemonkey, who is running shaman/mage/hunter.

In other news, i've been overwhelmingly unimpressed with the paladins playing on the TR, which could be because all these tards were probably playing druids and are still learning paladin after changing classes.

Team SK-USA…  More
Directly from the test realm patch notes:

No more mirror image polymorphs

"Mirror image: the images no longer cast polymorph."
Fantastic change. I knew this was going to be done eventually because everyone pretty much agrees that getting chain polied 4 times followed by a full 10 second polymorph by the real mage was stupid.
This will begin to put a damper on the PMR comps that charge in and drop every cooldown, including images right on top of the other team.

For those waking up just now, like me, after refusing to stay up all of last night to watch the ESL matches, the game history is here

You can't send teams that never deserved to be at the ESL global finals

For one, Serennia and Sck were never actually on the team that Realz was on that landed him first place at the last tournament (in patch 3.0, mind you). In other words, SK USA should not have gotten a free pass to this tournament simply because one of their members got first place in the previou…  More
For Paladins waking up this morning, this won't be a pleasant read

Sacred Shield now cannot be on more than one target at any one time.Infusion of Light no longer has a chance to reduce the casting time of Holy Light, but increases the the critical chance of your next Holy Light by 10/20% instead. Divine Sacrifice *New Talent* (Tier 3) - 30% of all damage taken by party or raid members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin (up to a maximum of 150% of the Paladin's health). Instant, 2 min c…  More
