Interview with "Duelists going for glad" unedited and why Jasi is afraid of Ming!

Here's an unedited version of Jasi's blog, rather the interview, with team Duelists going for glad.

I guess some of you are interested of how much editing Jasi does before the blog is released and how the interview really takes place. But, of course there's some drama in the blog as well!

<Emolol> i met dej and his 5v5 team through a pve guild on our old server cho'gall and they all thought i was a really good rogue so they started playing with me alot
<Emolol> when there warrior Depth quit the game they didnt have anyone to replace him
<Emolol> so we started doing 2345 with a rogue
<Emolol> and had some success on our bg, think we sat top 10 pretty easily the entire time
<Emolol> i ended up meeting ely through dej and we all just hit it off basicly
<Emolol> we thought ely was the best priest we've ever played with and i wanted to make a serious 3s
<Emolol> we used dej's alt mage and it just worked.
<Emolol> always had good synergy or w/e
<Emolol> someone else's turn lols
<Ely> yea uh basically what emo said
<Ely> i was doing 5v5s on cho'gall and we would occasionally replace our pally with dej's paladin, and in s3 we started playing together a 2345 comp with a rogue
<Ely> and 3v3 together
<Ely> with dej's amge

<Dejj> Well..my pally was always my main until this point really, I was always more of a 5's person until our my warrior died so I started doing a lot of 3s. I met Ely from a friend's of mine 5v5 team, I used to play paladin to help them out. Our priest a long time ago quit (name was Kriea) so we picked up ely to replace him.
<Dejj> Emo asked me to do 3s with him a long time ago with a priest he used to do 2s with, but he quit as well, so we just put ely in instead, and started having great success
<Dejj> We started playing pretty much the beginning of season 3
<Ely> warrior didn't die, he quit

<Dejj> It's a pretty messy story how we all came along, but its intersting i guess lol
<Jasii> So what were your overall thoughts on the 5v5 tournament, do you feel it was successful for a player run tournament?
<Emolol> the 5v5 tourny LOL
<Emolol> dej and ely will talk more in-depth about it but i think it basicly ruined 5's
<Emolol> with the start of countercomping
<Ely> I thought the concept for it was a good idea definitely
<Jasii> interesting
<Emolol> 5's has more countercomping than 3s now imo
<Jasii> so you feel the sole reason for 5's falling apart was the torunament? haha
<Ely> but the way it transformed 5v5s on bg9 into what it is now is crappy
<Jasii> what do you think is to blame for that, euro comp?
<Jasii> and what about the triple melee serennia comp that followed the tournament
<Emolol> ugh
<Dejj> I thought it was a really good idea, and it put some competition in the game for once but I think it came just a little too late because of the euro comp and tsg comps basically killing all of the 2345/2346 teams
<Ely> you can't really blame people for playing to win
<Emolol> yeah ely's right
<Ely> but personally I found the game devoid of any fun when running those eurocomp/triple melee teams
<Dejj> and I mean, you look at 5s now, and its tripple melee countering euro/tsg, and there is even double warrior warrior teams that are being ran to counter the standard tripple melee now

<Jasii> so afte the tournament was when you began to focus primarily on 3's?
<Dejj> Well, one of our main reasons for xferring was 3s, that was defintely on our mind when coming here
<Dejj> I just think we started to take it to the next level after they announced the 3s tournament
<Ely> Yea, the 3s tournament definitely sparked our interest a bit.

<Ely> just wanted to say i think having a serennia type player on your arena team is pretty invaluable; he pretty much innovated the triple melee and double melee teams we see today
<Ely> so yea props to him
<Ely> .
<Jasii> yeah he's the ultimate in play to win mentality
<Jasii> so did the initial RMP nerfs with PI and slow decline of top tier caliber demoralize you at all
<Jasii> before you got to first place :P
<Dejj> not at all, we never really used PI as a crutch to kill someone, it was nice but the new PI isn't bad either for mages still since it stacks with Icy Veins.
<Jasii> what does it reduce frostbolts down to?
<Emolol> the druid nerf'd buffed us if anything
<Jasii> out of curiousity :P
<Dejj> And with the new 4 piece, polymorph can be a reall quick cast, and you can easily catch rogues in between globals and get a quick sheep off
<Jasii> yeah the druid nerf definitely helps priest teams
<Jasii> I see
<Jasii> so what would you consider your biggest difficulty right now in terms of team makeups
<Dejj> I wanna say around 1.8...I'm not completely sure though
<Dejj> Well, we've only faught like one really good lock/druid/rogue, at least that comes to my mind, and they were really tough for us to beat.
<Emolol> yeah druid lock rogue is like, not in our favor at all, if the rogues decent i dont think we should ever win
<Emolol> he can just cloak / vanish the sheeps till the priest is dead
<Emolol> really hard to control
<Emolol> we made a new strat we will test when we play sk gaming on TR though
<Emolol> and ely being dwarf will help alot
<Dejj> Warrior/rogue/druid is kinda hard, but on TR, im not scared at all
<Dejj> and frostbolts are 1.74, sheeps are just less then a second
<Dejj> thats w/ pi and icy veins
<Ely> i'm curious to see how we play versus s2 geared druid/war/lock
<Jasii> are you prepared to face countercomping on the TTR?
<Dejj> happyminti's double rogue lock was really toughf or us too with ely being draenei
<Jasii> oh I know how that feels
<Ely> a well played hunter/lock/druid would probably be trouble as well
<Jasii> its bull****

<Jasii> especially if they're all undead
<Jasii> you cant do anything
<Jasii> you just die
<Ely> yea it's frustrating, but i'm not too worried about it since you can be dwarf on the ttr
<Emolol> im not worried about countercomping on tr at all, really all we need to do is switch races vs some setups and we're fine imo
<Dejj> We know countercomping is gona be there, but we've really been getting good at learning how to play against them, like the double melee teams and the hunter/lock/druid teams. Especially with the drain nerf
<Jasii> I see
<Jasii> so you think countercomping has lessened in 3's but is raging rampant in 5's?
<Ely> there's definitely counter comping in 3s
<Ely> like double melee vs warlocks
<Ely> or hunter/mage/druid vs double melee
<Emolol> we dont see teams like, swapping players to counter us in 3s, like ever
<Ely> rogue/mage/priest doesn't really get countercomped though
<Jasii> and you don't think it will happen in the TTR or you're just prepared for it
<Emolol> i think we're just prepared for the most part
<Dejj> I think we're just more prepared for it, like I said before, We've really got good at playing versus these "counter comps" and making it an even match up.
<Emolol> the only team to really farm us is sk gaming, thats the only time we really need to test some things out for
<Ely> i think over time some countercomps will develop for rogue/mage/priest, given how popular it is.
<Jasii> so against SK-Gaming do you feel it is an error in strategy or are they just that good
<Dejj> Could be a bit of both..I feel like they have the advantage over us but I think we can come up with something to try to pull off some more wins
<Emolol> like when we 1st played hafus team
<Emolol> they farmed us for like 8 games
<Emolol> the next week we played them
<Dejj> If ely was dwarf, it would really help out a lot (which he is on tr) and emo being human means we will usually have a better opener, so alot can change in the TR
<Emolol> we figured some things out and beat them like 8x
<Emolol> i think we just need to figure something better out, we have some new strats we will try on TR
<Ely> we haven't played them since 2.4 either, with the new druid changes
<Ely> so i think that would help us a little bit as well
<Jasii> hrm
<Jasii> what do you find difficult about the team makeup?
<Emolol> by the time we can control the rogue
<Emolol> our priest will be dead
<Dejj> Well, warrior druid lock (hafu's team) was always pretty tough for us, but then we figured out a strat but we can't really do the same thing to a rogue because they have many more outs then the warrior does
<Emolol> all he really has to do, is set mage for focus, vanish incomming sheep, cloak incomming sheep, prep vanish incomming sheep, priest is dead
<Dejj> I've never been so frusrated trying to sheep a rogue more then trying to sheep Neilyo, his awareness is really good, he'll cloak, vanish, los, do everything he can to avoid them, and hes very good at it
<Ely> aye it's pretty hard to stay alive against an undead rogue
<Ely> with a pocket dispel on 8 second cd
<Ely> and no stoneform
<Dejj> But we have some things we want to try out in the upcoming matches
<Jasii> so do you think a lot of his success comes from being undead?
<Jasii> or a portion
<Emolol> yeah it definatly helps
<Dejj> Well it helps of course, but I would definetly say hes the best rogue I've ever played against
<Ely> what dej said
<Jasii> I see
<Ely> don't really like saying "well we lost because of so and so and if only we had such and such we would win"
<Dejj> It just sucks hes a huge dick, other wise I think he could be one of the most respected wow players ever.
<Ely> it basically excuses you from any faults
<Dejj> But we do have some things we want to try that might give us an advantage
<Jasii> k celex this is for you in regards to your spec, what do you feel 0/0/61 has over the stadard mage spec
<Jasii> and what made you favor it over other builds
<Jasii> builds
<Dejj> I've seen many different variations of 17/0/44, and you either miss our on winters chill, arctic winds, or empowered frostbolt for the most part, and I think all 3 of those are really important. The arcane tree for the most part is complete trash and you have to pretty much waste 15 talent points to get Imp cs.
<Dejj> I think imp cs is nice and all but I dont believe is wasting 15 talent points to get to it, when I can pick up a lot of extra things that help my defensive play, especially against mirror matches.

<Emolol> he makes it sound like dej is spec'd 61 frost because of him
<Emolol> when hes been 61 frost for years
<Emolol> and everyone from our old bg was 61 frost
<Dejj> well since bc came out, but yea

<Ely> yea it was kinda surprising to see a lot of people bashing dej's spec
<Ely> when it was kinda frowned upon on our old bg
<Ely> not frowned upon but unusual
<Dejj> Not all are full frost but most are different variations of 0/5/56, Kuujaface who IMO, is the best mage of all time is 0/9/52 I think
<Jasii> best eh
<Dejj> hes pretty amazing, lol
<Dejj> I haven't seen a mage equal to his skill in bg9 anywhere, thats for sure.
<Emolol> yeah, too bad people can only look at top bg9 and say people there are amazing
<Emolol> when really theres some insane players on bg7
<Emolol> well, like 2-3 teams ><
<Jasii> its just difficult for them to market themselves
<Jasii> thats all it is
<Jasii> they have to do something that shows their talent
<Jasii> but much easier said than done
<Emolol> yeah
<Dejj> But for the most part, I love my spec and I don't plan on changing it, if I do change it, I will be going 0/5/56 or 0/7/54 or somethin like that.

<Dejj> And I hope to change peoples mind about my spec being terrible
<Dejj> Its just...you get better mana conserve, better offensive talents, and better defensive talents
<Dejj> its a win/win/win situation if you ask me
<Ely> lose if you don't like using cs on cooldown

<Emolol> so far its alot of fun, the only thing thats sucked was the que times when u reach a certain point
<Emolol> like, we're @ 2k now and the que times are up to 15min for a game
<Ely> it's been a lot of fun yea, fighting new and old people alike
<Dejj> We haven't played that much, but I think our rating is like 1973, 41-3 I think. We played against a couple double rogue locks, couple mirror matches, faught against druid/hunter/warrior and lots of warrior/rogue/druids
<Emolol> before that we had pretty instant ques
<Emolol> we had some good games against mimph's warrior hunter druid team
