Rio. But when it came to offending Muslims....

Read this earlier this week, he wanted to destroy the Ka'aba in his film... which kinda makes sense in a movie that's about the ******* end of the world (seeing how even Islamic literature indicates the destruction of the Ka'aba as a sign for the coming of the end iirc). Shame he pussied out, can't blame him though. Religion of "peace and tolerance" needs a lot of violence to maintain it's "prestige".

Regardless of him *****ing out or not, he decided to be sensitive to the political climate and possibly the safety of his workers on the film. I give him a thumbs up for thinking.

NO, I am saying the political climate among members of the Islamic faith is extremely sensitive at the moment. Considering the uproar that has happened over their prophet being depicted in a European Newspaper and the fact western military powers are operating in the MIddle East heavily, and the one sided politics we show towards Israel, I am pretty sure seeing a Muslim landmark being destroyed could easily be twisted around by a radical Muslim cleric or a religion-baiting politician, like the current Iranian president, in the Middle East as anti-Islam. Its literally asking for something to be made into propoganda.

Jesus Christ is constantly being made ridicilous... we have Jesus Christ Superstar, people walking around in "Jesus is my homeboy" shirts, now they're making a play with Jesus being a tranny, the list goes on. Do you ever see Christians taking the street shouting unintelligble ****, while carrying signs with extremely offensive language on them (Behead those who insult Jesus!)? The United States was attacked on 9/11 by Islamic terrorists, or so everyone believes at least, and other public targets of "Christian" nations were hit afterwards (Madrid, London, Netherlands). Do those two things combined stop this filmmaker from obliterating the statue in Rio? No!

You're delusional if you think Islam's attitude towards criticism and ridicule has ANYTHING to do with the current political climate. It doesn't take a radical imam or Ahmedinejad to twist the destruction of the Ka'aba in a film into anti-Islamic propaganda. It didn't take them for massive riots on some ******* comics either. Many of what you'd call "moderate" muslims are perfectly fine people, but when you dare to even touch their religion they become just as radical as the rest of them.

P.S: He didn't do this to safeguard his personnel, he wanted to include the scene himself but someone else warned him that they might put a fatwa on his life for doing so and he agreed that wasn't worth the risk.

P.P.S: They're also making a new film on Muhammad which will depict him as a hero. Guess where all the protests are right now, eh? That's right, they're only there to silence criticism and negativity about Islam.
