This is deeply unsurprising, Obama is faced with one of the worst economic situations any president could deal with. His plans were pretty much retarded, but its doubtful that even better economic policies would have worked any better.

If America goes down the toilet from Republicans running it, it won't bother me too much. Not necessarily. Most of the economists I've talked to pretty much say whatever he could've done within the realm of possibility would have been equally ineffective and the best thing would've just been to project a reassuring front and done nothing.

I am sure he has said several times now that they have that under control (which they do).
