The group brackets and play schedule have been released for the ESWC 2008 Masters of Paris Q3 event, and the very first game of the tournament is going to be an incredible matchup between former dueling champions, teammates, and fellow countrymen.  The winner of the last big Q3 1v1 competition, Paul "czm" Nelson, will take on arguably the best Q3 1v1 player of all time in John "ZeRo4" Hill in the opening match of group play.

I was privileged enough to observe a practice match between czm and rapha preparing for the upcoming ESWC Masters Q3 event last night.

A few tournaments have concluded in the past few weeks and some of the older players have been polishing up their games with ESWC Masters of Paris less than 10 days away.

I had a good talk with the infamous Q3 player Walter this past week.  For those of you unfamiliar with him, he has been -- and still is -- the topic of hot debate in the Q3 community in regards to his use of cheats online.  There is currently a poll on community hotspot ESReality (www.esreality.com) asking who the least favorite person on ESR is, and Walter was leading with 16% of the vote last time I checked.

News broke recently about Quake 3 dueler and reigning 1v1 champion czm officially joining up with Team EG (www.myeg.ca) for the upcoming slate of Q3 tournaments this summer.  He spoke briefly with SK-Gaming (www.sk-gaming.com) of his intentions to get in 30 hours of practice time by the ESWC Masters of Paris event taking place from July 4-6.  It would appear that he is jumping right into his practice regimen.

You might have noticed that we announced the European Duel League in our last Czech Quake Show on PG24 Television. European Duel League is an Invitational league for the best 16 players in Europe.

European Quake 3 Champion will receive € 100 in ca$h, so we might expect some tough games between following players.

I will put out some names for you, so you can realize, that this is going to be Online Tourney of a year!

Everyone here bought an iPod Touch, right? Ok maybe not, but if we all did, we could all stand next to each other and play a game of Quake 3 on them with each other now. Thats right, the iPod touch is just another portable device to have the popular First-Person Shooter ported to it. Though the controls look a little dumb, the hardware and graphics are there. Looks neat.

After first great semifinals of Quake Nations Cup's Winners Brackets where Czech Republic and Sweden meet themselves there is second semifinals on schedule for today.

On Thursday 3rd April at 22:10 CEST another great game will be played, because  Poland B and United Kingdom will face each other.
