The crew at Keen and Graev's are in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to Aion Online. The situation goes like this: they decided a while back that they'd like to roll on the unofficial RP community since it tends to be more mature in nature. Unfortunately, many of the biggest and worst guilds from Warhammer Online's Pheonix Throne server (consistently the biggest RP server) have decided to leave WAR in exchange for Aion. The WAR PT group stands apart from the already established Aion Roleplayers… More

Tonight marked a big night for the Warhammer crew. It was the night the world saw their very own cake, modeled after a squig and it's loveable throaty friend, the goblin! The show was entertaining to watch. Duff and the crew at Charm City cakes outdid themselves on this one and gave us some good quotes to boot!
Some of my favorites of the night: Duff describing a squig: "a giant meatball with teeth" "Go into battle with this living meatball of a death machine" "The only thing left now is the sno… More

This is mostly a copy and paste, but here is some rather interesting news that was just released yesterday. From http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=841Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the ne… More

Every once in a while, I come to a point in WoW where I feel I've seen most of what I need to see in the current content to be satisfied. Because of this, I've looking for something to replace Warcraft until the Ulduar patch comes out, and brings me back for some more boss-slaying goodness. When I reach this point, I normally look for open betas, and free trials on other MMOs to pass the time. This time, I took up the "main competitor" to Warcraft, EA/Mythic's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.… More

Let's push gear to the side for a moment. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say something controversial, there's more skill involved with PvP than PvE. The same goes for RvR. I've been thinking about this topic for a little while now, debating with myself on what's involved in each realm of play. PvE definitely involves skill. As so many raiders have said, you can't just go into a tough encounter and "faceroll" your way through it and hope to succeed. There's a particular amount of depth to … More

WAR puts all of its chips on the "epic" square of the roulette table. Since before release, we've heard about the grandness of war; the exhilaration of taking part in a massive battle. Many envisioned mini-armies clashing on the war fields, attackers and the destined, and imagined that feeling of awe that's attributed to a new and incredible gaming experience.Â
So far these types of clashes have been great, forgiving the rampant performance and stability issues, of course. Even some of the harsh… More

Which is the best MMO? WoW summary
These articles are going to be giving a run-down of today's MMOs (WoW, Warhammer, and AoC) and the Pros and Cons of each from my experience of each, and then I will compare them all. I will only be discussing the PvP aspects of each so don’t expect any PvE garbage. This post I will be talking about WoW. WoW We all know WoW, what it offers, what it caters to, so I’m going to keep it short a sweet for comparison purposes. Pros Arena While it isn't perfect it does h… More

So it has been a long time since ive written about Warhammer Online and truth be told, its been a long time since ive played the game. Why? Well as fun as the game is (and it is very fun imo, I love shaman) its simply unrealistic of me to play it on my current machine. Despite having comperable visuals to WoW, and vastly inferior graphics to Fallout 3, the game runs absolutely terrible. I can run WoW on high and still sustain around 20 fps, and Fallout 3 ive yet to go below 30. This to… More

Well, I quit Warhammer a bit over a week ago to start WoW again with RAF. I might have been finished with Mythic, but they certainly weren't finished with me. My petition was that I couldn't bind keys to my mouse properly, letting them know they didn't have support for side mouse buttons outside of the obvious workaround. I got a very blizzardlike response, telling me to delete my WTF and WTB folders -- I mean telling me how to change keybindings. That itself is not humorous, but take a closer lo… More

As I mentioned in my last post, I ended up canceling my WAR account for now, and going back to WoW for WotLK. Even though I went out and blew 40 bucks to buy the game again (I sold my original account), I was pretty sure i'd shelve it along with WAR in a week or so, disgusted I bought it again, and go pub some more CoD4 or DotA: I couldn't have been more wrong. I attribute this mostly to blizzard's new Recruit-A-Friend money-making scheme I mean promotion. The basics of the promotion are as f… More

Been leveling my engineer, 24 and climbing, hopefully will be 30 by the weekend. Best part about it, did at least 90% of it completely through PvP. That is something no other MMO can claim, that I've experienced at least. Sure PvE MAY be a little quicker with a more steady stream of xp, but the xp you can gain by running a solid guild group, or even a semi decent PUG is just amazing. For example, at level 20 it takes roughly 120k experience to level. LOSING a Mourkain Temple (T2 Scenar… More

After my recent escapades with Propz to nzcontemporary.com Life as a Bright Wizard, pre Fire Cage
the Charge of the Dork Brigade, I got fed up with the forces of goon in the world and made a break toward Order. Mythic had just announced the experience bonuses on a couple Destro-heavy servers, so I rolled up a Bright Wizard on Ulthunalaalalanan to see how the other half lives. I played him all the way through tier 1, and although that's in no way representative of the Order, Bright Wizard or Ulth… More
