Zilea will be talking over today's live blog while I take care of my father-in-law who is here in New York for three days on business. Estel will take this opportunity to escalate outstanding issues to senior management and I have to be prepared.
The opening match is only a few hours away! And you shouldn't skip tonight's matches because we have Reckful, the best rogue in the game today according to the hokage, taking on Inflame, the best warlock in the world according to himself (although to be fai… More
Just days prior to the MLG Anaheim event, we here at myEG.net broke the news of the brand new EG.WoW lineup, but with players in transit to the MLG Anaheim event, there wasn't much time to sit anyone down and gets the specifics of the roster changes, leaving fans with a number of questions.
Well, here is the time for answers. EG's own Brian Dunn and Kristina 'Korini' Chin will be sitting down with Isaac 'Azael' Cummings-Bentley in Anaheim this Friday for an exclusive video interview regarding the… More
As Cataclysm approaches, I've noticed more forum posts popping up around the internet about possible “lore breaks.” Most of these issues deal with the new playable races, Goblin and Worgen. The general vein of these complaints seems to be that it's just too far fetched for either of these factions to be joining the Horde and Alliance.
I'm not a big lore buff but it's not hard to see that, for Goblins especially, their move isn't fitting with the current world. What we have is an example of… More
WOM's own Azael/Pookz/Bodi will be at the event! Good luck to all competitors!
Looking at the final roster, as far as RMP mirrors go, Reckful-kun's Complexity has mental edge over Korean Button Bashers and SK-US as they beat both at the last MLG, including a humiliation 5-0 sweep of Realz's S… More
The concept of "level segregation" touched on in Gamebynight's recent blog really elicited some dormant memories and emotions for me. In every MMO I've played to date I strove to not only reach the highest level content of said game, but to conquer it in a dominating fashion. This obviously limited who I could effectively play with to the higher level, like-minded individuals, and endgame guilds. This also put a strain on some friendships that I made while leveling, and/or brought with me from the start.… More
Arena Tips So it seems to be kinda trendy lately to blog about arena tips for newer and veteran players alike and although a lot of this kind of stuff will just get the "duh" reaction from seasoned players, for everyone person that reacts that way there is someone else that just learned something new. That said, I'm going to write about a few things that I seem to get asked a lot and hopefully some people will get use out of it.
1. Plan of action - In order to be successful at the highest levels, … More
I will try something new today. Maybe it's too screenshot heavy but we'll see how it goes and as there are simply too many screenshots for one blog, it will have a couple of parts I will toss in when no hot news are floating around in WoW Arena. That is if you guys enjoy this. I hope some screenshots will humour you or push your nostalgia button. I surely enjoyed going through my screenshot folder. As some screenshots are simply too big for the Gameriot blogsize I will link on them and you just have to click on them. If your name is in the blog or one of the screenshots, hit me up with a PM and I will remove it. I don't think you should be ashamed though. Enjoy … More
Lately I have been thinking about some small changes that would make a huge difference with the Warlock Class... and how small changes would really be the best way to improve or balance classes further to improve the game without throwing anything off with major changes. I'm sure that almost every player can think of small little bugs and problems with their class that fixes could easily be implemented for to greatly improve them without completely adding some new ability or changing a talent. … More
Yesterday it happened that because of a domino effect which Daanzka triggered by raping kids and my Shaman decided that I was too inactive and he wanted to play with Shaman hero Glyptic's Mage, which is fair enough since I my time is very limited with university and Eurospective and also I'm sure that a 300 games per week playing Glyptic is the better player.
I decided that it was time to go back to Ret, a class that suits my playstyle meaning I think I'm pretty good at understanding if I need t… More
Even with my $30 faction change to horde, I still whole-heartly support the nerf to Will Of The Forsaken. Considering the 45 second shared cooldown with PVP trinkets, it is still up there as one of the better racials in the game, as matches between most comps do last longer than 45 seconds.
Neilyo-kun posted his thoughts about the racial change:
GET PUNISHED 4 USING YOUR RACIALOLLL. That nerf was wayyy to big. If basically cant will a fear before trinketing now b/c once a rog cant trinket they w… More
I fell asleep half way over the new David Attenborough documentation called "Life" last night. Not that I thought it was boring or anything, pretty much the opposite, but wild animals having intercourse plus the sound of his voice triggers essentially the same genetically anchored reaction like a mother's heartbeat does to her child while it's sucking on her nipple. That still works for me nowadays by the way, just not with my mom.
In fact I slept so well, that I even had a nice dream. I could f… More
Will of the Forsaken now shares a 45-second cooldown with similar effects, including the Medallion of the Horde, Titan-Forged runes, Insignia of the Horde, etc.(Source)
So.. Blizzard eventually decided to nerf the most overpowered racial in arenas nowadays, coincidentally just after the race change went live and the majority of horde players who do pvp/arena competitively orde… More
First a quote of the day from hunter hero Hamchook:
I like Verdak. Why you ask? She has entertaining content. She's open about the aspects of her life that most people are incapable/afraid/[insert other reasons] of being open about. I find this to be a liberating experience; something that I can't imagine being "OK in life" without. I prefer to be able to face past humiliation as opposed to burying it and dreading the day that it resurfaces. I also like Verdak because I have an interest in … More
Ever since WotLK was released I can't stand Mutilate and the way us Rogues are forced to play the game. Yea, forced. Subtlety- (and even Combat)specs are viable in certain setups, certain brackets under certain circumstances. But if you're like me and always strive for the top, Sub is unfortunately no option at the moment.
This wouldn't be half as bad if Mutilate/Prep wouldn't force us to spam cooldowns as if there's no tomorrow so our opponents die and we won't feel like our friend here:
