It's hard for some people to comprehend that BioWare does make mistakes when it comes to their products. Sure, the overall quality of their games generally excels above and beyond industry standards, but that doesn't make them flawless by any stlretch. Typically the mistakes are minor and can be overlooked as nothing more than tweaks to improve upon in the following installment. However; in DA:O's case there's simply too many shortcomings to overlook as minor nuisances. Ones that can be merely i… More
Microsoft is calling Sony's price drop with one of their own as the two console makers stare each other down over the green felt of the table
The latest news out of Redmond, Washington is that Microsoft is cutting their system SKU's to two ditching the Pro model and dropping the price on the Elite. This cut has been rumored for a couple of weeks now especially after the sighting of the Elite bundle above now in the white, Pro-like box. The Elite used to only come in a smoke gray/black box until… More
You gotta love those old school graphics. Honestly if you compare them to the original cartridge, even with the expansion pack, they look a lot better.
Perfect Dark for the Xbox Live Arcade was announced on day two of E3 and now the wonderful world of 1's and 0's brings us these shiny screenshots running at 60 frames per second (the original only dreamed of that) and in 1080p.
The game's Xbox Live listing is up on the net already where you can check out more information on the game. A summar… More
Most of the press conferences at E3 2009 are now a thing of the past and it is time to take a look and what worked, what didn't, who won and and who slipped up. I did this last year as well if you want to see those results. These are your E3 winners and losers.
The Biggest Announcement
I have to go with the announcement of Final Fantasy 14. This shocked pretty much everyone at the show and it was one of the few things that didn't leak out in advance. Square-Enix has stated it may eventually co… More
Today at 1:30est Microsoft is set to fire up their conference at E3 filled with loud music, games and a ton of hype. Make that 1:25 apparently as they needed another 5 minutes to smack down on their rivals Marcus Fenix style.
I'll be your host for the day covering the conference but if you like you can tune in to the much hotter Morgan Webb on G4 TV and watch it live on your television. I'll keep you posted as updates roll in and add video when possible. For now it is Poptart time until the … More
Welcome to another edition of my E3 preview, the second of four. Today's features Microsoft and the Xbox 360, potential announcements, rumors and what we can expect from MS at the E3 conference the first week of June. I covered Nintendo last week and Sony and the PC are upcoming.
I gave Microsoft the announcement of the year at last year's show via stealing away Final Fantasy 13 exclusivity from Sony and making the game multiplatform. At this point I think Microsoft needs another killer anno… More
I was really hyped up to play the Final Fantasy 13 demo when it came with the Advent Children Blu-ray release here in the states, much like it did in Japan recently selling like hot cakes.
Unfortunately for us the good news pretty much stops there. Japan, like usual, gets the goodies while we get the Gunblade-sized shaft here in North America. Yoshinori Kitase, producer on FF13, told Video Gamer that the demo will not be coming to the states on Blu-ray and in fact there are no definite plans f… More
The Nintendo Wii has long worn out its welcome with me. The motion controller, while slightly innovative, generally has led to a bunch of waggle-inducing games where motions are just tacked on to make use of the Wii Remote and add little value to games.
It seems some folks at Sony and Microsoft may be buying into the Wii-hype and the thinking that motion controls are the key to the Wii's success. They aren't, but more on that later. Rumors persist… More
It seems all is definitely not equal in the world of console gaming. We all have our preferences when it comes to consoles, personally having them, I like being able to judge them based on the hardware and games and not blind fanboyism.
Edge recently took some time analyzing review scores via EEDAR which is similar to Metacritic and Gamerankings. The covered the 360, the PS3 and the Wii in an attempt to put some sort of calculations behind the "who has the better games" statement.
I took a bit of time away from reviewing this because I wanted to make sure I was over the "newness" factor and that I could look back on the game accurately and give it a fair shake. This will be plot-spoiler free for the most part.
This isn't your typical Resident Evil game. It is twice as far from the series' roots than RE4 was. If you like the direction that game was heading then there is a good chance you will like this one. If you are expecting a return to the survival horrors roots and… More
There has never been such a popular electronics product that has been so full of complete hardware failure. The Xbox 360 has to be one of the most shoddy products in consumer electronics history. While the RROD fiasco has been somewhat solved, it still hasn't been remedied for those having Zephyr or Falcon motherboards. On top of the RROD it seems Microsoft now has a new "failure" to keep track. Enter E74.
Joystiq brought forth a poll today to find out how widespread the issue is and Negative… More
If you haven't heard yet Microsoft has an itchy trigger-finger when it comes to the delete and ban button on Xbox Live when it comes to anything even closely homosexual.
The latest to suffer the wrath of the anonymous mods was a girl named Teresa who banned from Xbox Live for identifying herself as a lesbian in her gamer profile according to The Consumerist. Teresa's case is the latest in a slew of gay-related issues on the Xbox Live service. theGAYERgamer was forced to change his name even tho… More
Having just played Resident Evil 4 for the first time early last fall I have been quite excited for the next edition of the zombie/infected franchise. Chris Redfield's bulging biceps may not "do" anything for me but he can certainly kick some serious virus-infected ass.Â
The Resident Evil 5 demo hit Xbox Live today and will be out on the Playstation Network next week. The demo is pretty short but it gives ample enough time to play with the controls and admire the pretty graphics.Â
Ok, So i was bored yesterday and decided to write an AHK script to play WoW using an XBox 360 controller!
So, how does this majiggery work?
Well, in order to have enough keybinds to map everything to, a jump button and a tab targetting button, i had to make use of Modifier keys. Here is a rough outline of the controls (which can be customized in the .ini file)
( A ) = 1 ( B ) = 2 ( X ) = 3 ( Y ) = 4 ( DPAD DOWN ) = 5 ( DPAD RIGHT ) = 6 ( DPAD LEFT ) = 7 ( DPAD UP ) = 8
So there is this "I Am Alive" game coming to PC, 360 and PS3. You may remember this snazzy trailer from E3 last year which previewing some sharp cutscenes but offered little in the way of gameplay.
Ubisoft is bringing this modern day survival title to a gaming platform near you and it is now dated for March. March? WTF? We don't even know anything about it other than what we can gather from the trailer. It is apparently modern day and you are trying to survive a post-earthquake ravaged … More
