My headphones broke yesterday.  They were nice headphones.  I liked them.  I think they might have committed suicide, actually.  Their entire (2 year) life consisted of sitting on my desk, then going on my head, and subsequently going off my head and back on the desk.  Perhaps they died of loneliness.
