Personally I really enjoy Guitar Hero World Tour. The game itself isn't as good Rock Band 2 at least when it comes to menus and interface. However Rock Band 2 does that have annoying feature of playing songs over and over in career mode and random songs; which I hate. And Guitar H… More
Was the all male cast of the first big name Guitar Hero: World Tour not really your thing? Did Kobe, Phelps, A-Rod and Hawk not really reach out and grab you?
Fear not readers, Activision feels your pain and brings you this glorious nugget of rocking out, Heidi Klum in lingerie...
While the first commercial may be more funny, there is little doubt that Heidi Klum takes the cake so far in this commercial shootout. Activision is sparing little expense in advertising… More
Apparently the Beatles/Harmonix collaboration will be its own stand alone game, separate from the Rock Band platform. No word if any Beatles tracks will make the transition over to Rock Band. They are shooting for music hardware compatibility with Rock Band however.Â
Hrm, not really sure if I am a fan of this idea. I would be more tempted to buy Beatles tracks in RB2 than I would a solo game.Â
It is days like these I am glad I went with both of the current big two music game titl… More
Attention all lazy Guitar Hero: World Tour players: Look no further if you would like to unlock every single song in your recently purchased rock 'n' roll simulator without actually completing it. With ultra-minimal internet searching (roughly three point and clicks) I have acquired for you GameStop's coveted pre-order bonus cheat code. So without further chit-chat here is the button combination you will need to enter in the "Cheats" section: Blue, Blue, Red, Green, Green, Blue, Blue, Yellow. Voila, enjoy being a lazy, cheating gamer. … More
Was just watching the typical Sunday evening football and I saw this great commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Youtube was the first destination and thankfully someone put it up. Check it out:
The Risky Business homage is pretty fantastic and Kobe almost steals the show. The original clip is here, click only if you can handle Cruise in his underwear. I can't imagine this being a cheap commercial, even tossing in Guitar Hero for the guys and unlimited down… More
This is entirely badass, absurd, overpriced yet extremely cool looking all at the same time. This is Logitech's premium Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar.
Apparently this will make you the envy of all your friends as you will definitely have the coolest-unneeded accessory for your music gaming fetish.Â
Now if I had $250 to waste, and I mean literally waste, and there weren't 8-12 other games I'd like to check out in… More
Word on the street is that Rock Band is going country. CMT (Country Music Television for those who don't give a damn about country like me) apparently announced it at some point on the tube. When posted on the forums a Harmonix developer confirmed the news stating:
"Furthermore, this thread blows my mind. With so many genres represented in Rock Band already, why would the addition of Country be such a huge shock? We'll have Country in RB sooner or later"
Guitar Hero: World Tour is edging closer to release this month on the 24th. I have been hunting the best deal for almost two weeks now keeping up on prices so I probably could have posted this some time ago. It finally seems there are no more "versions" to pick and choose from so this list should be complete.
In order of price:
$239.99 -Â Complete band kit, t-shirt and extra battery pack, bag + more $189.99 -Â Complete band kit, no bonuses, everything you need to play $109.99 -Â Game and new … More
Music games are where the money is. Everybody and their brother has one in the works - and they're mostly Guitar Hero rip-offs. In a perfect world there'd be a Rhythm Heaven for every Alvin and the Chipmunks, or an Elite Beat Agents to counter-act the sheer cheese of every Guitar Praise. Sadly, this just isn't the case. Giant Realm hopes to help stem the tide of High School Musical and Hannah Montana shovelware by suggesting seven music games that need to happen and pronto.
There is a ton of news hot on the heels of today's Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero: World Tour comparison that I wrote about earlier. This massive amount of GH:WT press out today and stories around the web don't surprise me too much, clearly a part of it is to counter act the launch of Rock Band 2 this past weekend.
1UP covered 10 reasons you should be considering Guitar Hero: World Tour. The all new character creator is one of them. Not something that really interests me, but I at least I wont… More
This is a follow-up to a blog I wrote some time ago here at Gameriot on the battle of plastic musical band games. Guitar Hero World Tour is due out next month and Rock Band 2 hit the 360 this past week. The full bundle for RB2 won't be out till next month when it comes out for the PS3 as well. With both games heading in to the home stretch it is time to see how they both stack up.
This doesn't need commentary. I froth the froth of ages.

Some big news brewing on the horizon today in the gaming industry. Read on for the scoop.
It seems Square Enix is readying to make a friendly purchase of Tecmo. Tecmo hasn't fallen on the best of times of late and this would be a wise move on their part. I question if DOA and Ninja Gaiden are all that valuable, though maybe this could bring Itagaki back to Team Ninja?
Brett Ratner apparently wants to do a Guitar Hero movie. In what could be the ****tiest movie idea since someone signed off… More
It seems the developer fighting and incompatibility of music games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band will be soon be over at least on the Playstation 3 front.
Sony updated their blog today noting that all of the next games like Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Band 2 and Konami's Rock Revolution will "for the most part" all work together like a nice happy family.Â
"A few specific examples include: Guitar Hero: World Tour's guitars and drums will work with Rock Band 2 and Konami's Rock Revolution soft… More
One good turn deserves another. A week after being called out by Warner Brothers and their desire for more "music game" money the folks who make Guitar Hero have laid down the law.
Activision took note of Warner's comments last week which I talked about in this piece. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick noted what most of expected. The music industry owes plenty to the music gaming platforms and if they don't want to play fair the game publishers may stick with music labels who… More
