Let me ask you a question. For someone who has put in 100+ days played, who is ridiculously leet at the game, and he gets mad accalades & respect when he is in game which in turn boosts his confidence, is taking away "his addiction" really the right thing to do?
When you are absolutely amazing at something, whether its basketball, academics, hot dog eating, or WoW, it gives you a sense of empowerment and confidence. Doing cocaine or other drugs don't have any benefits and therefore, are a bad addiction.
But WoW isn't a bad addiction, necessarily. I think if you are great at the game, there are many potential benefits including sponsorship ($$) and confidence. When I used to be insanely good (during S4), whenever I was put into a precarious situation where I felt nervous, I would remind myself that im "OGPurps" and act accordingly. It was my alter-ego that I used when I needed to remember that I'm the fukin man, and everyone should know it like before job interviews, dates. And if something didn't go my way IRL, no big deal, cuz OGPurps would always bounce back after being ganked, and I knew that. This is beneficial, not detrimental. The therapists should go back to school imo cuz no one cares what they have to say.
Having said that, a person who constantly plays but continues to suck @ PvP and/or raiding really should find another hobby, WoW isnt' for you.

Itr's true. WoW is a gateway to another world, a world where getting called a "noob" or being /spit on is the biggest fear. When I have problems IRL, I use WoW to become OGPurps, not Marc. It's kind of scary, but it works.
