It's the direction that every new game is going. They took out aim and recoil and made it easy. All it is is who ever is in the others cross hairs first. It's like HALO, the game is complete crap, but all these new players who don't know any better think it's absolutely amazing. The single player is really well done, but everything else is silly.

I played CoD1 for a few years, I even stuck with CoD2 for over a year, but it only took it me a few days of CoD4 before I couldn't take it anymore. There is only so many times you can get blown up by set car nades before you realize your playing HALO with iron sights. Maybe CoD5 will be like WoW, tab targeting! Or auto-aiming!

Right now the future of competitive gaming is going to be in old games, or competitive mods. Or maybe a company that dares to make a game, rather than a cinematic 'experience.'

2 second global cool down never goes away. And there are a total of 40 ranks in WAR, so think WoW level 18 with no snares, CCs, speed increases, stuns, dazes etc. One of the big things about this game is that you can level with just PvP, so they made the skills to accommodate this. But right on Damballah!

1. I was giving a brief overview of the classes I have tried, I played the Black Orc Tank the most and gave an example of how the system doesn't work in the same way their class summaries said they would.

2. Once again I'm giving a quick summary of how some of the classes work, and I meant to include /DPS after Tanks, I'm sorry.

3. Believe it or not there are doors and ramps in RvR territories.

4. Warrior Priest

I've played for over 15 minutes, so where's option C? C) Not going to over hype every new game as the "WoW Killer" and instead am instead giving an actual review on the state of the game.

Btw.. the UI is amazing and easily customizable. The Tome of Knowledge is great and the maps and questing system is top-notch as well (I'd say easily better than TBC). It seems that the biggest strengths in this game are ease of understanding and great PvE / Questing features. However PvP game with poor PvP is sort of a bigger deal.

The global cool down is 2 seconds long. Imagine a rogue but with a 2 second GCD, that is what WAR is like. Also at rank10 I have no slowing abilities, stuns, or speed increases that allow me to attack. So when I get someone down to 5% hp they just run away and there is nothing I can do. The only option is to use my range attack. but that does 15dmg when they have around 1,400 HP. Also the animations are extremely dull so you end up running around hitting things, but have no sense that your really doing anything. And the collision detection is all fine and dandy until someone decides to stop in front of a door or a ramp onto a ship, which happens A LOT.

There is so much hype about the new class mechanics but they all rely on the same Mana bar which they call 'Action Points.' So all the spells, and abilities use 'Action Points,' and when the action points run out you have to regen to be able to cast anything. The differences they add on to classes don't add much depth.

Healer/Melee Hybrids - Get healing points when they attack. However each attack gives you the equivalent of 1 full healing spell of healing points. You also start out with 250 healing points which is equivalent to 8 full heals before you even have to hit anything. Basically you never run out of healing points unless you sit in the back and spam heals non-stop. And even if you do, you have abilities that turn action points into healing points at the rate of a spell per second. They might as well have left out the healing points because they change absolutely nothing.

Tanks/Melee- They all use the same idea. They have a few stages of attacks. Some attacks bring you to the next stage which allows you to use new attacks. They don't use rage, they only use a few stages of attacks. So have fun leveling a warrior with an even slower global cool down.

Healer/Spell Hybrids - Each time you cast a healing/damage spell you get a little bonus to casting a spell of the opposite type. There are many better ways to go about balancing hybrid classes, this is more of an easy fix rather than a solid idea.

Spell DPS - Each time you cast a spell your spells do more and more damage, the benefits you get slowly go away so you have to keep casting to keep maximum benefit. This promotes the idea of, "Stand in one spot spamming casts and you do stupid amounts of  damage."

Overall with a 2 second global cool down, and very counterproductive class mechanics, they have created a game for CASUALS. If you are looking for a PvP game with a decent skill cap, this is not the game for you. They might as well have made this a turn-based game.
